Arctech was established in 1993 as a marketing company. However, it was always the intention of the founders
to work towards establishing production facilities.
Arctech worked solely in the welding materials marketing sector form 1993, the year it was established, to 1996,
the year that the production plant was established.
Arctech with its modern, fully automatic and numerically controlled machinery, is Turkey's youngest producer of
welding consumables. Arctech facilities are located on a 35000 m² site, with a further 20 000 m² enclosed area.
These facilities have been set up with 100 % domestic capital.

During this period, Arctech was importing and distributing many types and brands of welding materials.
In a very short time , Arctech became Turkey's largest welding materials marketing company and started to services
and equipment. Arctech also started representing many foreign firms in order to increase its product range.
Investment for the establishment of a welding wire and electrode production facility began in 1995. Construction
of the plant was completed in 1.5 years and trial production first began in 1996.

Working under the world renown Hobart brand licence, Arctech entered the Turkish welding sector and by 1997 Arctech had
become one of Turkey's most prominent welding materials producers and distributors. Bye the end of 1997, Arctech had
gained 25 % of Turkey's electrode and welding wire market share and 6% in Turkey's market share of welding machines
and other welding consumables. Considering that Arctech's most recently established competitor was established 25 years
ago, the success that Arctech has made in such a short time is outstanding.
